Point of View

What do you think?

Background of this post:

Background 1:
There is a book with a title 'Why Men Don't Listen and Women Can't Read Maps: How We're Different and What to Do About It'. I was not aware of the complete title, I thought the title was just 'Why Women Can't Read Maps'. I thought women can't read maps.

Background 2:
I was showing the cluster map of visitor locations of my blog to a female and flaunting. While showing the map I just asked her to locate China. She pointed her finger at the location given in the map above. I suddenly rememberd about the book that I mentioned above. So, started asking her to locate few other countries (while controlling my laugh). Her answers are showed in the map above. I seriously started thinking that women can't read maps.

Conclusion:
I did a little bit of research to find out if there is any scientific reason behind this and found that it is just a hoax. Read this.

Above all, Anuradha's comment in this blog's comment section has proven that women CAN read maps. (Especially with that 'Zimbabwe' thing. I didn't know where Zimbabwe was until I read your comment).

ps: Anu & Arasan - sorry if you had expected something great from me about this map. :(

Well, approximately assuming India depicts Zimbabwe in ur picture-we would still not have entered the super-eights in ICC world cup 2007....And we might have Indian dense forests everywhere (just like African forests.....)

Japan no more advances IST. Its more easier to travel to USA and UK. China is surrounded by the sea, more and more sea-foods(chinese cuisines-yummmmmmyyyyyy)

Future >> China will lead the economy with India being the center of attraction and USA on trailing lane behind China & India.

As per this POV UK should be behind USA.

Was your female friend a monkey or a new born baby? Then this survey makes sense.

Aruna - you dont have to be so angry about this matter. There is something called 'ignorance' or 'lack of awareness' - why dont we call it that way?

By the way, welcome to my blog.

Understanding maps and reading maps kku differentiation theriyaatha ??

99% women don't know to read maps

Anu has proven her ability to remember what she studied during her 8th, 9th and 10th class.

Nothing to do with reading maps ...

Ask Anu to read a map and get directions to reach a unknown place in Chennai map ... u will find the difference..

But for a guy who is unaware of chennai city plan could easily read that map and reach the location safely...

Try this out and continue ur research.........

Don't jump into wrong conclusions about a proven research

Thanks Seeni for that....

@Priya
First of all whats the difference between understanding and reading a map??? Dont we understand while we read? both goes together! And as I am a native of Chennai I dont think it would be of any difficult for me to reach an unknown place, if I study where the place is exactly(or for that matter for anyone).Be it a guy or a girl little permutation, combination, calculation and approximation will definitely give a solution:-)
